7 Sverdlovsk residents entered the Russian Olympic team

The Russian Olympic team, which will take part in the Winter Olympics in Beijing from February 4 to 20, includes 7 representatives of the Sverdlovsk region. Our athletes will take part in biathlon, ski jumping and short track.

The Russian team included:

– Irina Kazakevich (biathlon);

– Svetlana Mironova (biathlon);

– Anastasia Shevchenko (biathlon, reserve);

– Anna Vostrikova (short track);

– Evgenia Zakharova (short track, spare);

– Ilya Mankov (ski jumping);

– Samir Mastiev (ski doubles).

According to the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region Leonid Rapoport, 7 representatives of the region at the Olympics in Beijing is a repetition of the number of participants in the games in Sochi in 2014. And a significant excess of the number of participants in the Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018 (then there were two athletes from the region).

“For our part, we have done everything for the successful performance of our athletes. Now we can only worry about them at the TV screens, – said Leonid Rapoport. “I would like to wish our winter athletes to support the medal initiative of their Sverdlovsk colleagues from summer sports, who returned from the Games in Tokyo (Japan) six months ago with medals of all merits.”

Earlier, MK-Ural reported that 15 athletes from the Sverdlovsk region were included in the Russian team for the Tokyo Olympics, which took place from July 23 to August 8, 2021. In total, the team included 335 athletes.
