The rugby players of the Krasnoyarsk club “Yenisei-STM” became the silver medalists of the Russian Cup. In the final match, the club from Krasnoyarsk lost to its eternal rival, VVA-Podmoskovye, who won the tournament.
Sochi hosted the PhosAgro Russian Cup final in rugby-7. In the final battle rugby players “Enisey-STM” and “VVA-Podmoskovye” came together.
From the first minutes of the match, VVA-Podmoskovye players began to briskly carry out attacks and rapidly gain points. The Krasnoyarsk team, in turn, allowed their opponent to do too much. And so much so that the first half ended not in favor of Enisey-STM -14: 5.
In the second period, the club’s rugby players from Krasnoyarsk came out charged and motivated, which resulted in a series of attacks. Thanks to their character and focus on winning the tournament, the Yenisei-STM players were able to return to the game and almost made a comeback, but the mistakes made in the first half predetermined the result and the winner. The result of the meeting was the score 19:17 in favor of VVA-Podmoskovye.
Thus, in connection with the loss in the final match, “Yenisey-STM” became the silver medalist of the Russian Rugby-7 Cup.
We add that last year Yenisey-STM won only bronze medals in this tournament.
