The doubles semi-final in WTA in Tokyo, not for Katarzyna Kawa. A quick defeat with the favorites

Doubles Katarzyna Kawa – Sophie Chang was eliminated in the Tokyo WTA 500 quarter-finals, losing to the Canadian-Mexican ‘two’ Gabriela Dabrowski – Giuliana Olmos 2: 6, 4: 6.

The match of the Polish-American tandem with the favorites of the Tokyo tournament was practically without history, under the dictation of Dabrowski-Olmos. It lasted one hour and 7 minutes.

In the first set, the Canadian and the Mexican quickly developed a 4-0 lead, then they did not defend the break-points. In the second game, Kawa and Chang missed the 2-0 lead, and the key breakthrough came in the seventh game.

Dabrowski-Olmos doubles for the finals will play with the American-Dutch couple Desirae Krawczyk – Demi Schuurs, who in the quarter-finals cleared the American Sofia Kenin with the Russian Ludmila Samsonowa 6: 3, 7: 5.

In the first round, Kawa z Chang defeated Japanese Nao Hibino and Canadian Carol Zhao 7: 5, 6: 3. Alicja Rosolska together with Erin Routliffe also appeared in the doubles tournament in the capital of Japan. The Polish-New Zealand duo lost to the seeded with the “three” American Desirae Krawczyk and Dutch Demi Schuurs 5: 7, 3: 6.
