Doubles Katarzyna Kawa – Sophie Chang was eliminated in the Tokyo WTA 500 quarter-finals, losing to the Canadian-Mexican ‘two’ Gabriela Dabrowski – Giuliana Olmos 2: 6, 4: 6.
The match of the Polish-American tandem with the favorites of the Tokyo tournament was practically without history, under the dictation of Dabrowski-Olmos. It lasted one hour and 7 minutes.
In the first set, the Canadian and the Mexican quickly developed a 4-0 lead, then they did not defend the break-points. In the second game, Kawa and Chang missed the 2-0 lead, and the key breakthrough came in the seventh game.
