One of the attractions of the Colombian championship system is that the last date of the round robin phase is very emotional. In general, several teams arrive with mathematical options to qualify and play the semester in 90 minutes.

And that will happen this afternoon, from 6:00, with transmission by Win Sports, when eight of the 10 games of the twentieth day of the first division BetPlay League will be played.

With six teams with a guaranteed spot in the semi-finals: Tolima, Millonarios, Nacional, Júnior, Medellín and Envigado, among five others, the remaining two tickets will be defined.

Alianza Petrolera y Equidad, seventh and eighth in the standings, have the first option and depend on themselves; Santa Fe, Bucaramanga and Once Caldas depend on external results.

The other teams will be supporting actors on the date, which will end this Sunday with eliminated duels: Patriots vs. Deportivo Cali and America vs. Magdalena Union.

Thinking of homers

Classified for several days, the great candidates for the title have taken advantage of the last few weeks to rotate their payrolls, serve sanctions and adjust football details for the finals.

Tolima and Júnior, who also have commitments in international tournaments, have taken on both challenges and, additionally, continue to fight in the BetPlay Cup, while Millonarios and Nacional are focused on winning the two local trophies.

This Saturday, however, ambassadors and purslane will be judges in the definition of the two remaining quotas. The blues receive Alianza Petrolera, for whom a draw is enough to advance. In the last seven clashes between the two, Millonarios has emerged victorious six times and the other duel was drawn. A positive fact for the Santandereans is that in this tournament they have seven undefeated fences. He aspires to achieve the eighth in El Campín.

Nacional, with a mixed payroll, visits Equidad, which automatically qualifies if it wins. The tie would reach the insurers as long as Bucaramanga does not win and Once Caldas or Santa Fe tie.

“We have had a good tournament, the team has played very good games and perhaps we are struggling to qualify for some points that we let slip away at home, but we are one of the teams that generates the most scoring options. We are focused on going out to beat Nacional and not thinking about what happens in the other stadiums, “said Stalin Motta, captain and benchmark for Equity led by coach Alexis García and who has gone seven games without losing at the Metropolitano de Techo stadium, in which he has yielded four draws.

The party of hope

In Manizales, Once Caldas hosts Santa Fe. Both need to win and hope that Equidad draws or loses, depending on the goal difference.

Luis Díaz’s Liverpool now goes for the FA Cup title

It is disheartening to know that both, in their recent five presentations, have only one win, with one draw and three losses. The Whites, who started the tournament very well under the guidance of Diego Corredor, collapsed and the reason seems clear, the lack of a goal. He has finished off the rival goal 272 times (average of 14.3 per game) and has an effectiveness of just 5.5%.

Santa Fe, with a fairly small payroll, was affected by injuries and sanctions, as he has received 60 warnings and seven expulsions in 19 games.

Bucaramanga resigned its classification last week, when Patriotas tied it in the 97th minute. Those two points that it let go would have it with a good option to continue in the tournament. To advance to home runs, he needs to beat Pereira as a visitor and that Santa Fe and Equidad do not win, a difficult formula, but not impossible.

Jaguars and Eagles have some mathematical option, but it is unlikely that they will be given it. They would have to win against Júnior and Cortuluá, respectively, but also for Equidad to fall by several goals as well, for Bucaramanga to lose and Once Caldas and Santa Fe to draw.

BetPlay Cup quarter-final matches ready

Of the duels Tolima vs. Envigado and Medellin vs. Pasto the highlight is the option of the pijaos to finish first or second in this phase and have the advantage of being seeded in the home runs, which will be drawn on Sunday from 9:00 pm, and will begin next weekend. .
