Prosecutor General Krasnov told his colleagues in the CIS about the threats from Ukraine

Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov at the 32nd meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS countries (KSGP), held in Minsk, was again elected Chairman of the Council for the next year. It is reported by RG.RU

Krasnov told his colleagues who trusted him that in the difficult foreign political situation in the world, the KSGP remains a platform for constructive dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation based on respect and trust.

According to him, this is especially valuable “when the foundations of international law are collapsing before our eyes, double standards are applied, and the political situation often replaces common sense”

Krasnov once again explained to the CIS prosecutors why the Russian Federation launched a special operation in Ukraine. According to him, had Russia not launched a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass “from extermination by the Kyiv regime, the consequences could have been even more catastrophic.”

He also said that today’s events have become a test of the stability of international relations, including in the prosecutor’s community. Unfortunately, Krasnov noted, not all colleagues who positioned themselves free from any outside influence passed it.

“Many turned out to be, as they say, completely involved in Russophobic processes,” said the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.

According to him, in some countries the prosecutor’s offices are ready to refuse cooperation with Russia even in such areas as the extradition of criminals, legal assistance and the fight against crime in the broadest sense.

He cited as an example the decisions of Great Britain, Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Montenegro, Croatia, Poland, Estonia and the Czech Republic. In these countries, they refused to extradite to Russia those accused of committing especially serious crimes “for political reasons.”

Krasnov compared the Russophobia that unfolded “at the initiative of a number of Western countries” with the period of genocide on a national basis in the 30s and 40s of the last century. According to him, she will receive her due assessment, as will all who are guilty of crimes against the population of Donbass will be brought to justice.

The Prosecutor General also warned his colleagues from the CIS about the threats posed by the situation in Ukraine for their countries. He called illegal migration, terrorism, sabotage, the possibility of moving drugs and weapons to the Commonwealth states from the territory of Ukraine, which are actually in uncontrolled circulation in this country.
