Diana Trujillo He arrived in the United States when he was only 17 years old and made the decision to leave Colombia due to the difficult situation he was experiencing with his mother.

“In my parents’ divorce there was a lot of conflict and she wasn’t going to keep anything. We came to the conclusion that if she stayed in Colombia, I would have to start working and postpone my studies”, said the Colombian in an interview for El Espectador.

When he arrived in the United States, he had to go through different jobs to be able to pay for the English course and thus start his studies.

In 2007 he managed to enter the POT as the only Latina to do internships at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

After her effort, passion and dedication to her career, she was appointed head of mission in 2014.

Now, becoming a NASA flight director is the reward for all her years of effort and sacrifice.
