Latam has canceled 367 flights since the accident at the Lima airport

To date, Latam has received 15,000 rescheduling requests through its different contact channels.

Latam Airlines reported that this Saturday it had to cancel another 261 flights after the closure of the Jorge Chávez international airport in Lima was extended until 00:00 on Sunday, November 20.

The airport is closed after an accident occurred this Friday between a fire truck and a Latam plane that was landing. The accident left two dead.

With the cancellations this Saturday, in total Latam has had to cancel 367 flights since the accident occurred.

Faced with the contingency, the airline is offering the following alternatives to passengers affected by the cancellations:

  • Customers with canceled and/or rescheduled flights can request a ticket change up to one year from the ticket purchase date, without any payment, or request a full refund of their money.
  • Customers with flights between November 18 and 23 may request a change at no cost up to 15 days from the original date of the flight, or a full refund of their money.

To date, Latam has received 15,000 rescheduling requests through its different contact channels.
