Double salary for 4 more bureaucrats

In Turkey, where poverty is growing day by day, the number of AKP members with double salaries is also increasing. Four new names joined the honey salary frenzy.

The 4 new deputy ministers appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on April 8 were also made members of the High Council of Stewards (YKK), which organizes horse racing and joint betting, and received a double salary of 59 thousand 553 TL per month. Akif Özkaldı, Fatih Metin, Hadi Tunç and Ayşe Ayşin Işıkgece, the four deputy ministers of the former Minister Bekir Pakdemirli’s term, were also receiving double salaries as members of the YKK.

Veysel Tiryaki, the former mayor of Ankara from AKP, and Ebubekir Gizem Özgürgezer, former deputy of AKP, are among the new deputy ministers. As of 2022, these names receive a board membership fee of 20 thousand 16 TL, which is determined as 4 times the gross minimum wage from YKK. The salary of the deputy minister is 39 thousand 537 TL. Özkan Köylübay, son-in-law of Former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, also takes part in the committee.
